New HRCA Chess Workshops in July!

Preparing for the upcoming U.S. Open or want to brush up on your chess skills?  Join HRCA for a 3-week Master Workshop with HRCA Coach and National Master Dan Miller!

Workshops are 90 minutes each week for 3 consecutive weeks and held virtually via Zoom.
Each workshop is only $75 for the 3-week series! 
You do not need to be an HRCA member to participate.  Open to kids and adults.

To Register:
Select the Workshop below that best matches your rating/playing level.  Existing users should log into their JackRabbit portal account. New users will be required to create an account. Full tuition is due at time of registration.  You may log into your parent/student portal to make payment immediately if you wish to avoid an automatic payment.  Otherwise, HRCA will charge your account on file for the $75 tuition within 72 hours of registration.

 Zoom links will be emailed to you and uploaded to your Portal Resources no later than 3 days prior to class start date.

Important Notes:
» There is a new 1.5% Technology Fee added to all payments.
This helps HRCA keep tuition low despite our rising software expenses.
» Ensure your banking/account information is correct to avoid any additional fees.
» Declined payments may be subject to an $8 fee, which is the actual cost HRCA incurs.
» Sessions will be recorded. There are no pro-rations or refunds for missed live classes.


Workshop A: Players with a US Chess rating of 1000+

Participants MUST have a current US Chess regular, over-the-board (OTB) Rating of 1000+.
Workshop is tournament-focused and not designed to be a substitute for chess classes and camps.

Workshop topics include tactical endings, board vision, and avoiding psychological pitfalls during tournaments.

Dates: Mondays, 5:30pm-7:00pm.   Classes will meet via Zoom on July 8, 15, and 22nd

Workshop B: Players who are not-rated (Rookies) or rated under 1000 

This workshop is intended for players who are either not rated or rated below 1000.
Players should know the basics of chess and be able to play through a game.
Workshop is tournament-focused and not designed to be a substitute for chess classes and camps.
This is a rare opportunity for rookies and U1000 players to learn from a National Master!

Workshop topics include tactics, end game strategies, and large tournament experiences.

Dates: Wednesdays, 5:30pm-7:00pm.  Classes will meet via Zoom on July 10, 17, and 24th
